Mia started dancing at the age of 4. It led her to attend the Perpich Center for the Arts and received a scholarship to the University of Minnesota Dance Program where she had the opportunity to study and perform with some of the world’s best choreographers and teachers. Like many dancers she was obsessed with being thin and it started to take a toll on her physical and emotional body. Luckily, she was introduced to Yoga in college by a fellow dancer and discovered the power of the practice. It has been a life long journey to find peace and self acceptance. Personally movement is something that continues to heal and manage stress for Mia. Over the past 20 years Mia has performed as a professional modern dancer and taught over a 1000 master classes in various yoga formats. Her resume includes managing and opening boutique studios for CorePower Yoga and Life Time Fitness. Assisting in the creation of popular class formats such as Yoga Sculpt and leading various Yoga teacher trainings. Her classes are physically challenging, inspiring and full of joy. Over the past few years Mia has taken her expertise in Dance and Yoga and created the Barre Bliss Technique. In February 2013 she became a certified Foundation Training Instructor and is passionate about helping people move out of pain and improve their performance. With the combination of Mia’s work and Foundation Training she has seen results quickly and has helped several people achieve their personal goals. Mia’s greatest teacher is her daughter Lula. She is grateful to have the opportunity to share Barre Bliss with you.
